Foster & Rescue
Foster
What is fostering?
When you foster, you agree to take a homeless dog into your home and give him or her love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time or until the dog is adopted.
Why should I foster a dog?
Fostering a dog is simply one of the most rewarding things you can do! By fostering a dog, you will free up a space, so the shelter/rescue organization can take in another dog.
Every dog is different and we don’t know what the dog went through before getting in the shelter. By fostering, you will give the animal the time to socialize with different types of people (and maybe other pets). This way you are giving the dog the time to be ready for adoption. You can not do better than fostering a dog with a positive-methods trainer. If you work in foster and rescue, feel free to reach out to me.
What you can expect: That I will want to behavior evaluate the dog; that I will want to make sure the dog is healthy; that I will want to know that the dog will get along with my dogs. If you are reaching out to me, please let me know the following about the potential foster dog:
Breed; age; health status; spay/neuter status, and when the dog was spayed or neutered; situation (was the dog surrendered, why, etc.); location of the dog; any special needs of the dog; whether the dog is housetrained or not; bite history, including bite attempts; size of dog.
You will never regret to open up your heart and house to be a foster parent.
Rescue
Animal shelters are full with happy, healthy animals just waiting for someone to take them home. That someone can be you! When you have decided to open up your house to a new furry baby, the animal shelter is the right place. It is a common misconception that shelter dogs did something “wrong”. Â In fact, most of the animals end up in the shelter because of their owners (people reasons).
I am always here for you to help you find the perfect match. Like humans, every animal has its own personality, so it’s important to know a little bit more about the dog before taking him home (to avoid that the dog would end up in the shelter again).
Pets put a smile on your face and will give you unconditional love, especially shelter dogs!
